I knew that fruit are healthy sources of food but until reading this cite I had no idea that fruit were THAT good for the body. Scientists have proven that fruits are packed with antioxidants, fiber, vitamins, and minerals that support longer life. In addition, fruits help skin look better and can prevent disease like cancer. I learned that it is important to eat five to nine portions of fruit every day. I find that hard to believe because I can’t imagine eating five apples! The writer Benjamin Plackett also says to buy fruits fresh over processed, I found this very helpful because I didn’t think that there was anything wrong with canned fruits, but the “superfruit” is better and healthier as it came. Under the two paragraphs that amplify the importance of “superfruits” there is a slide show with facts for different fruits. One that stood out to me was the bananas. Bananas are loaded with potassium and can lower blood pressure. They also are one of the best sources of starch which is a healthy carb that fills your stomach and boosts your metabolism! I found this link very helpful and gave me very interesting facts about fruits that I did not know! This will actually inspire me to include more fruits in my diet daily!
