People are drawn to vegetarianism by all sorts of motives. Some of us want to live longer, healthier lives or do our part to reduce pollution.

Since I have been a vegetarian for reasons aside from health, I found this article very enlightening and helpful. It is pack full of reasons to choose a vegetarian diet! By staying away from meat products, one prevents themselves from many diseases like heart disease and cancer. In fact, an interesting fact I learned was, a low-fat vegetarian diet is the single most effective way to stop the progression of coronary artery disease or prevent it entirely, which leads to cardiovascular disease, the number one leading cause of death in the United States. The article contains many other interesting reasons and benefits to being vegetarian like, a longer life, reduce pollution, sparing animals, having more energy, and avoiding toxic chemicals in your diet. Overall, I thought this article was very informative and helpful. It taught me a lot more to why being a vegetarian is good, and it is definitely information I will use to help me create a healthy diet plan for my life.
